We have been married for 29 days now.

We may or may not have had enough Scrabble tiles, ergo the quote missing "those."

Bastian's dad drew this for us.

We are still waiting for our pictures but I did steal some from my friends here.
As it turns out, planning a wedding from 4,000 miles away might have been the best possible way. We made contracts per email and that was that. By being in Germany up until a couple weeks beforehand, we just waited and hoped for the best. I feel we spared ourselves a lot of stress this way (my mother's stress levels, however, might have been higher).
Bastian's parents, sister, best friend Christian and Aline (Christian's girlfriend) came from Germany, also touring parts of the US before and/or after our wedding. We were a little worried about our families meeting for the first time the night before the wedding, but minutes after meeting each other everyone was laughing together like old friends. It was lovely seeing everyone smiling and laughing together the whole night.
We flew back to Dresden only four days afterwards, exhausted, dehydrated, disoriented. Our first order of business was sustenance and a nap. Afterwards, we sprung out of bed, hopping around to put on pants, saying, "We have to go get our cat!" (who was staying at a friend's apartment)
And so we took the tram to get our cat because could you ever deprive yourself of this face?
We were sad to leave the US and all our friends we'd just seen, some for the first time in years. We've been consoling ourselves with pancakes and chocolate chip cookies.
